today i wanted to share my little discovery of the day, well my wife heard about it but she has been my connection to food since we meet. today’s treat was so good. chocolate dipped buttertarts. one word – devine.
now you cannot go wrong with a good buttertart if done correctly, meaning that the muffin cup sized treat is buttery and gooey with a rich caramel flavour. the usual suspects are plain, raisin or nuts, but I think that raisins are just wrong. this one had all the great aspects that i look for in a buttertart but with a wonderful chocolate cap that sealed in that wonderful golden goo.
overall this was a great buttertart to begin with but the layer of rich and smooth chocolate took this treat to a whole new level folks. centred in Arva Ontario, just a stone’s throw from the Historic Arva Flour Mill (which will be a feature on this blog soon) this new downtown location is just too close for my waistline.
next time you’re downtown and hankering for something new and deliciously decadent try one of Annie’s Chocolates – chocolate dipped buttertarts. you’ll be glad that you did.
