i was going through my videos and i was also hungry so i decided to make another batch of zeppole di patate. I wasn’t sure if i had posted it but i did a video that i thought that i would share.
Hello Everyone, I just read the greatest book that i wanted to share with you, now up front i did receive this book for a fair review, just so you know. but this book was awesome, i really liked the fresh take on the space opera, it was new and exciting. usually this is not my favorite area of science fiction books because of the long windedness and endless pages. this book was tight and lean, but created a wonderful universe that you could get lost in for days. quick action and great plot twists kept me firing through those pages like laser blasts (which there were a whole bunch of). there was a strong religious under tone that was surprising these days, as most authors stray away from what can be a contentious area. but this was dealt with the subject with respect and didn’t beat the reader over the head with it. but this book really had a unique point of view and brought the reader through quite a ride. set in the distant future where the Earth faces a unstoppable enemy we’re confronted with a protagonist that is facing not only the loss of his crew but the extinction of the human race. Along side him, is a great line of minor characters we are introduced to at an impossible moment where the fate of this universe hangs in the balance. When The Sky Fell was totally worth the read and i was crunched into a little ball as i read the last few chapters. i would totally recommend you check this book out.
Sky3 – Emerald Mara is another seat of your pants rocket ride through the wild world of Sky. This is the third installment of the series and the action has never let up for a minute. the challenging and complex thriller about a world on the brink will have hooked. the author loves my reviews but i love his work and i’m not about to mince words. these books are great, fast paced enough that you can’t put them down but interesting enough that you can’t stop thinking about them when you put them down. i have to wait for the next installment and i’m not sure how i will make it. William Amerman has really created a fantastic world and i’m counting the minute until he publishes the next book.
just sitting in the backyard smoking a chicken for dinner and enjoying William American’s Emerald Mara. it is the third book in a very exciting series that has me totally hooked. I have review the first two novels on Amazon and my site and i’m lucky to get the third instalment. in a world that seems determined to tear itself apart the characters struggle to survive. i’m having way too much fun for a Tuesday afternoon. checkout my reviews of the first two books. oops time to check the chicken…
Smoked Bacon generation 2. it was delicious and moist. the temperature was just right and it took about an hour. the process was easy even using a regular 4 burner bbq. what I did was use the 2 outside burners with the flame guards to get maximum convection around the inside and placed the stainless steel smoking box on the side of bbq that was having air drawn from it. so the air currents were drawing the smoke across the bacon drying it slightly and cooking it by convection heated air. low and slow cooking along with indirect heating seems to be the winning combination.
I will test this a few times and then do a video for his specific setup. I think that because this is not being done in a traditional smoker the setup is extremely important to the process. I believe that i will have to change things to accommodate different processes and foods. but that’s part of the fun for me. any questions or suggestions would be great, but i don’t want to entertain the question of “why not just use a smoker”
Another great book by William, this book had me on the edge of my seat, i couldn’t get through the pages fast enough. but this book forced you to rethink, everything about he world around you. the very fabric of reality is defined by our understanding of the world. change the world like our author has done and you change the world. simple excitement wasn’t enough, the challenging of the very foundations of what we call reality is what we were faced with in this book. the events of a few people that live in a world so different than us can be so compelling and thought provoking. The characters seem so real and you’re drawn into their lives so quickly that they become like family. Page aby Page a foundation is laid to give the reader a richer idea of the struggles and plight of the main characters. I kick myself for not having the next book ready to read when this book ended. i need to know how everything turns out. a wonderful book and great read.
when my wife gave me this product to review i wasn’t sure what I would do with it or if I would be able to get this working at all. but as always my wife turned out to be awesomely right. again. haha.
the Okra Bluetooth Music Receiver is a really great product and i’ll break it down for you. first, I am the only guy in my house but i tend to run all the errands in the house. so my music tastes are really different from my family so i always carry music on my phone and thought that was good enough. but when I streamed music from my phone to the stereo in my car i was blown away at the quality of the sound. I listen to a bunch of music but i mostly listen to house music – rich bass beats and simple vocals. I was impressed as to how clear and smooth the sound was and i had forgotten just how much I liked the tracks that i was listening to. the sound for a cheap mp3 over a Bluetooth cellphone connection was clear and rich. not the stuff of audiophiles but great for the trip to the grocery store with the windows open.
the charging and setup was super easy, i just plugged it into my USB rooter and i charged in about an hour as far as I can tell. but i did have a snag connecting to it with my phone but after a 5 minute sidetrack on Google and i was ready to go. no complicated setup or adjustments. once my phone remembered how to connect to Bluetooth I was ready to go. no complicated power up sequence or button pressing magic – just on, off and connecting. easy.
i have an HHR from Chevrolet which is a bit unusual so i won’t go on about the dongle hanging in space on my car but the audio lead was a bit short but it was so light and small that it didn’t matter but i got the idea for a small stick-on Velcro piece to stick it to the dash (it’s new home until the end of time).
charging isn’t a problem for this little guy you can either use the included USB cable or the USB cable that comes with most android phones. either way it took about an hour to charge and it’s been going for a couple hours. nice thing about it using the same usb cord as my phone is i can change it while it is playing. so i can charge my phone then the Bluetooth after. excellent.
overall this is a great product that was well thought out and executed. at this price you can go wrong if you’re looking to stream audio from a Bluetooth device.
My wife got this to test and i was lucky enough to play around with it. the Attmu is a small Spiral Slicer that has a lot of promise and it could have some really interesting applications. the continuous spiral slices makes a vegetable nest. it is a little limited in what it can do but it does it well.
it’s solidly made plastic and stainless steel body will stand up even to my less than delicate handling but it is light and easy to use. you want spiral cut veggies this thing will push it out all day. these veggie nests that would hold anything from grilled meats to poached eggs.
I would recommend one of these for your kitchen, well built and unique.
here is a test of the slicer on a russet potato and it was as easy as it looks:
